Coles Community Food with SecondBite

Providing five million meals to Australians facing tough times

Coles Community Food with SecondBite is a program which donates surplus healthy, fresh produce to community food programs supporting disadvantaged Australians. Since the program launched in late 2011, we have provided the equivalent of over 5 million meals to those in need.

Around Australia, over 400 Coles stores are donating fresh produce and bakery items to both metropolitan and regional communities to assist the estimated 1.2 million Australians who don’t have access to a safe, regular, and affordable food supply. The aim of the program is to reach as many communities across Australia as possible.

Your chance to get involved

From 12 June 2013 to 9 July 2013, we’re helping SecondBite reach even more people in need this winter. Simply buy a $2 raffle ticket the next time you visit your local Coles and go into the draw to win a Coles Gift Card. Or, make a donation at any register or self-checkout. All proceeds go to SecondBite and providing fresh healthy food to those needing a little help.

Who we help

Coles and SecondBite, together with many on the ground partners such as FoodBank, Food Rescue WA, Salvation Army and Parramatta Mission, distribute food to over 900 agencies around Australia.

Making a difference

The Prahran Mission in Melbourne was one of the first agencies to receive regular contributions through the Coles Community Food with SecondBite program and uses the donated food for a meal program that’s open to all experiencing disadvantage.
