Coles Finest Free Range Pork
On 20 July 2010, Coles announced it had expanded its relationship with the RSPCA to exclusively source Coles Finest Free Range Pork. This means Coles Finest Free Range pork is born and raised on RSPCA approved farms.
The RSPCA Approved Farming Scheme means customers can be assured that pigs are kept according to the RSPCA’s welfare standards which go beyond those recommended by the Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals.
Coles Finest Free Range Pork is now available at 60 Coles Supermarkets in ACT, NSW and Victoria. The range will be expanded to other stores as the supply of free range pork increases.
As well as launching Coles Finest Free Range pork, Coles has developed a pork welfare model that is better for customers, growers, and pigs. We are now working with our pork producers to phase out sow stalls and expect to achieve this by 2014.

Coles RSPCA Barn Laid Eggs
To help customers switch from caged eggs to free range eggs, Coles is cutting the price of our free range eggs. We’ve cut the price of Coles Brand free range eggs by at least 18% all across Australia. Coles has also announced that we have committed to phasing out Coles Brand caged eggs by 2013, a move which has been applauded by the community & animal welfare organisations such as the RSPCA.
Customers told us that they want to buy free range eggs instead of caged eggs, and our research shows that 95% of Coles customers would switch to free range if the price was lower. We hope that our new lower prices across Coles Free Range & Coles Barnlaid eggs, will provide shoppers the opportunity to choose Free Range, over caged eggs.
