Save the planet one bag at a time
At Coles, we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment. In an effort to help reduce the number of single use plastic bags we issue and encourage greater use of reusable bags when shopping, we have launched, nationally, a new range of bag options for our customers to purchase in store.
These include:
- Re-Use Me: Don’t Forget Me bag available for $ 0.15 cents each;
- Natural bag made of natural plant fibres available for $2.99 each
- Single pouch bag available at selected stores for $2.99 each
- Multi pouch bag (five pack) available at selected stores for $4.99 each

Please note that for every Natural Bag purchased Coles will donate 10 cents to support Junior Landcare and the development of community bush tucker gardens, maintaining the traditions of Indigenous Australians).
Coles will also continue to offer our ever-popular 99 cent Landcare reusable bags, with 5 cents from the sale of each bag donated to support Coles' School Garden Grants Program.

For customers who forget their reusable bags, free single use checkout bags will continue to be available (except in South Australia due to the Government ban on single use light weight plastic bags that commenced on 4 May 2009).
To further encourage plastic bag recycling, Coles has invested in new plastic bag recycling bins for our stores across Australia.
These bins are located at the front of our stores and available to any customer who wishes to drop off any unwanted single use or Re-Use Me: Don't Forget Me plastic bags for recycling.
Please get behind our 'Save the Planet' campaign and remember your reusable bags the next time you go shopping.
