A team that is Better Together

We know that when we work together, we can create positive outcomes for our team members, farmers, suppliers, customers and the communities in which we live and work.  Better Together sets out our ambitions as to how we will work with our stakeholders to drive positive change.

Diversity & Inclusion

As part of our Better Together strategy, we’ve committed to a number of diversity and inclusion initiatives to be achieved by December 2023. The program includes five key focus areas – Belonging, Gender Equity, Accessibility, Pride (LGBTQI+), and Indigenous Engagement. Each focus area has ambitious goals that are supported at the executive and board levels and worked towards by all team members.

Coles is proud to champion LGBTQI+ inclusion in the workplace and beyond, and in 2021 Coles was recognised as a Gold Tiered Employer at the LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion Awards.

Our Pride@Coles team member network actively contributes to local LGBTQI+ communities and events across Australia, including Sydney World Pride 2023. For our customers, we have expanded the rollout of ACON’s Welcome Here initiative across Coles Supermarkets, Coles Liquor and Coles Express.

Accessibility for our customers

Coles is making shopping easier for our customers. We're modifying our stores so they're more accessible and inclusive, improving digital accessibility on our website, and offering a number of programs and services that make it easier for everyone to shop with Coles both in store and online.

We are all different and at Coles, we know that is a good thing. Just as we have for over a century, we are making Coles somewhere everyone feels like they belong. So that we can all live healthier and happier lives.
