Drought relief

Helping drought-affected dairy farmers through donations and milk sales

Coles and our customers have already committed more than $12 million to drought relief, including $5 million from the Coles Nurture Fund to assist drought-affected farmers.

To further support Australian farmers, Coles increased the price of our 3L Own Brand milk from $3.00 to $3.30 in all states between 21 September and 31 December 2018, with 100% of the 30 cent price increase going to drought-affected dairy farmers.

Applications for the Coles Dairy Drought Relief Fund are now closed and it is anticipated grants will be made to successful applicants no later than 31 January 2019.

Coles’ support for drought relief also involves:

  • Over $7 million for the CWA’s drought relief efforts raised from customer donations during August and September, which were matched dollar for dollar by Coles; and
  • A total of $5 million in grants or interest free loans from the Coles Nurture Fund for farmers who have a project which will help them to combat drought in the future.
