Latest updates

Below are the most recent updates from Coles on the impact of COVID-19.

5th August 2021

Shopping safely in Victoria

The Victorian government has announced a lockdown for the state to come into effect from 8pm on 5 August.

All Coles supermarkets, liquor and Coles Express sites in the affected areas will stay open during this time, and customers can continue to shop online using our Click&Collect or home delivery services.

Existing safety measures remain in place throughout Victoria, including a requirement to wear a mask when indoors except when at home. In line with this requirement, we ask our customers to ensure they are wearing a face mask before entering any of our Victorian stores unless they have an exemption – and the same rules apply to our team.

We also ask that customers check in each time they visit our stores by scanning the QR Codes on display at the front of the store, above the sanitiser stations within the store, or at the checkouts.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in high touchpoint areas including self-checkout screens and keypads, in addition to our existing safety and hygiene measures in stores to help keep our customers and team members safe.

We will continue monitoring customer numbers and encourage them to use the sanitising stations at the entrance to our stores, which include hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes for trolleys, before they enter.

To ensure customers have access to toilet paper, Coles has introduced a temporary two pack per person limit in our stores located in Victoria.

We ask that customers stay calm, shop normally and be respectful to our hard-working team members.

Coles has put together some tips on how customers can minimise their time in store by being a Coles Speedy Shopper, including creating a shopping list ahead of time and organising it aisle-by-aisle in their chosen store before they shop using the Coles App, available here: www.coles.com.au/covid19/in-store-updates#speedy
