Try this easy beef pot pie recipe this weekend for a hearty meal. Serve them with peas and creamy mash for a classic pub favourite at home.

Preheat oven to 200°C. Pour the beef and sauce from the packet into a bowl. Pull the meat apart to separate.
Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring, for 3 mins or until the onion softens. Stir in the mushroom and cook, stirring, for 5 mins or until tender. Stir in the beef and sauce.
Divide the beef mixture among four 1-cup (250ml) ovenproof ramekins.
Top with the pastry squares to enclose the filling. Use a small sharp knife to lightly score the pastry and brush with a little egg. Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake for 20-25 mins or until the pastry is golden and puffed.
Meanwhile, heat the mashed potato following packet directions.
Serve the pies with mashed potato and peas.
