Ingredients

  • 4 cups (1L) milk
  • 100g dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 100g milk chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1 long red chilli, halved lengthways
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 whole star anise
  • 2 mint sprigs
  • Whipped cream, to serve
  • Cocoa powder, to dust
  • Halved red birdseye chillies, to serve

Method

  1. Step 1

    Place the milk, combined chocolate, long red chilli, cinnamon, star anise and mint in a saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 mins or until the chocolate melts and mixture is heated through. Set aside for 5 mins to develop the flavours.
  2. Step 2

    Strain mixture through a sieve into a heatproof jug, discarding the solids. Pour evenly among heatproof serving glasses. Top with whipped cream, cocoa powder and birdseye chilli.
