Get-ahead school week tips

Take the stress out of the school week with our collection of fuss-free recipes and handy tips to get ahead.  

1. Green goodness chicken sandwich

Make this sandwich the night before. Wrap and store in an airtight container in the fridge. 

2. Bagel pizza

Make the bagels up to 1 day ahead. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. 

3. Tuna and rice salad bowl

Make the salad, without avocado, the night before. Cover and store in the fridge. Add avocado the next morning. 

4. Gluten-free ham and corn fritters

Make the fritters up to 4 days ahead. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. 

5. Mini bread quiches

Make the quiches up to 4 days ahead. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge. 

6. Macaroni 'n' cheese muffins

To freeze the muffins, cool them and wrap individually in plastic wrap. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight. 

7. Cheesy sweet potato and bacon loaf

This loaf also makes a great dinner - after baking, set aside for 10 minutes to cool slightly before serving. Cool any leftover slices, wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge to add to tomorrow’s lunchbox. 

8. Bacon and egg breakfast muffins

Make the muffins up to 2 days ahead. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. 

9. Make-ahead porridge

Freeze up to 3 months in an airtight container and reheat in the microwave to serve.
