How to light a Christmas pudding

Setting the pudding alight is a fun and special tradition. Here’s how it’s done.

STEP 1

Heat the Coles Finest Spiced Rum Pudding 800g following packet directions. Place the hot pudding in a heatproof serving dish on a heatproof surface.

STEP 2

Bring 1/2 cup (125ml) spiced rum to the boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat. 

STEP 3

Dim the lights. Pour the rum over the pudding, then quickly and carefully ignite with a long match or gas lighter. Make sure the flames are all out before you slice into the pudding. 

STEP 4

Serve the pudding with cream or custard.
