Ingredients

  • 425g can pitted black cherries in syrup, chilled
  • 2/3 cup (160ml) vodka, chilled
  • 2/3 cup (160ml) kirsch or cherry brandy, chilled
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) cranberry juice, chilled
  • 1 cup (250ml) cola, chilled
  • Ice, to serve

Method

  1. Step 1

    Drain 1/2 cup (125ml) of the syrup from the cherries into a large 4-cup (1L) capacity jug. Reserve cherries to garnish. Add the vodka, kirsch and cranberry juice. Stir to combine. Add the cola.

  2. Step 2

    Half fill six serving glasses with ice and pour over cocktail mixture. Garnish with cherries.

Recipe tip

For a fun twist on the cherry garnish, try freezing the cherries on cocktail sticks and adding to the cocktail frozen.

Serve leftover cherries and syrup with pancakes, waffles or ice cream. Alternatively, freeze in ice cube trays and use in smoothies.
