For a quick and easy dessert, try this caramelised banana split. Served with a warm dark chocolate sauce and a salted caramel ice-cream, you’ve got yourself a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

  • 100g good-quality dark cooking chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) thickened cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 60g butter, chopped
  • 1/2 cup (110g) brown sugar
  • 4 firm ripe bananas, halved lengthways
  • 8 scoops Bulla Creamy Classic Salted Caramel Ice Cream
  • 1/4 cup (35g) chopped roasted peanuts

Method

  1. Step 1

    Place chocolate, ½ cup (125ml) cream and vanilla in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, for 3-5 mins or until smooth and chocolate is melted. Remove from heat and cover to keep warm.
  2. Step 2

    Melt the butter and sugar in a large frying pan over medium-low heat. Add the banana and cook for 3-5 mins, spooning the sauce over them until caramelised. Add the remaining cream and swirl to combine. Carefully transfer the banana to serving plates. Top each with 2 scoops of ice-cream. Drizzle with the chocolate sauce and sprinkle with peanuts to serve.
