Stay cool with our Cherry lemonade recipe. Serving sweet and refreshing flavours, it’s the ultimate non-alcoholic party drink for the festive season. Frozen cherry ice cubes make for an extra-special touch that guests will love!

Ingredients

  • 12 fresh cherries
  • 100g fresh cherries, extra, pitted, finely chopped
  • 1 tbs caster sugar
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1½ cups (375ml) lemon juice
  • 1 cup (220g) caster sugar, extra
  • 3½ cups (875ml) chilled sparkling water
  • 2 tsp natural rosewater essence
  • Lemon slices, to serve
  • Mint sprigs, to serve

Method

  1. Step 1

    Place cherries in an ice-cube tray and cover with water. Place in the freezer for 2 hours or until frozen.
  2. Step 2

    Meanwhile, place extra cherry, sugar, cinnamon and ¼ cup (60ml) water in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 mins or until cherry softens. Set aside to cool slightly. Place in a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Step 3

    While the cherry mixture is cooking, combine the lemon juice and extra sugar in a large saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, for 5 mins or until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Set aside to cool completely.
  4. Step 4

    Combine the cherry mixture, lemon mixture, sparkling water and rosewater in a serving jug. Add lemon slices, mint and cherry ice-cubes. Serve immediately.
