DIY nut butter and choc-hazelnut butter


  • 300g toasted nuts, such as peanuts, cashews, hazelnuts or macadamias

Choc-hazelnut butter (optional)

  • 300g toasted hazelnuts
  • 1/2 cup (50g) cacao powder or cocoa powder
  • 2 tbs maple syrup
  • 1 tbs coconut oil, melted

  1. Step 1

    Place the nuts in a food processor. Process until a smooth paste forms.
  2. Step 2

    To make the choc-hazelnut butter, if desired, place the hazelnuts, cacao powder or cocoa powder, maple syrup and oil in a clean food processor. Process until a smooth paste forms.
  3. Step 3

    Transfer the nut butter to sterilised jars. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
