You won’t be able to get enough of these double beef Aussie burgers. Filled with crispy bacon and tasty cheddar, it’s an easy lunch or dinner option the entire family will enjoy.

Double beef aussie burgers

Ingredients

  • 1kg Coles Australian 3 Star Beef Mince
  • 1 large red onion, grated
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tsp dried mixed herbs
  • 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • 1 Coles Brand Australian Free Range Egg, lightly whisked
  • 1/2 cup (50g) dried breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) barbecue sauce
  • 4 short-cut bacon rashers
  • 4 slices tasty cheddar
  • 6 Coles Bakery Kaiser Rolls, split
  • 6 baby cos lettuce, torn
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 225g can sliced beetroot, drained
  • 6 canned pineapple rings

Method

  1. Step 1

    Combine mince, onion, garlic, herbs, mustard, egg, breadcrumbs and half the barbecue sauce in a large bowl. Season. Shape into 12 patties. Place in the fridge for 10 mins to chill.
  2. Step 2

    Meanwhile, heat a large frying pan or barbecue flat plate over medium-high heat. Cook bacon for 2 mins each side or until golden.
  3. Step 3

    Cook patties for 4 mins each side or until just cooked through. Transfer half the patties to a plate. Top remaining patties in the pan with cheddar. Cook 1 min or until cheddar melts.
  4. Step 4

    Divide remaining barbecue sauce among roll bases. Top with lettuce, bacon, tomato, beetroot, pineapple, patties and roll tops.
