Gluten-free pizza dough

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp (7g/1 sachet) dried yeast
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • 500g pkt Orgran Gluten-Free Plain Flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp xanthan gum
  • 1 1/2 tbs olive oil, plus extra to drizzle

Method

  1. Step 1

    Place yeast, sugar and 1/4 cup (60ml) warm water in a small bowl. Stir until the yeast dissolves. Set aside for 5 mins or until mixture is frothy. Stir in 1 1/4 cups (310ml) warm water.

  2. Step 2

    Place flour, salt and xanthan gum in a large bowl. Gradually add the yeast mixture and oil, stirring to combine. Use your hands to bring the mixture together into a smooth ball. Drizzle a little extra oil over the dough and rub over to coat.

  3. Step 3

    Place the dough in a clean large lightly greased bowl. Cover and place in a warm, draught-free place for 1 hour or until dough doubles in size. Use your fist to punch down the dough. Cover and place in the fridge for up to 1 day, or use it to make one of the pizza recipe below.
