Whip up this easy cheese and steak sandwich in just 20 minutes. Made with pesto and topped with melted cheese, these open faced sandwiches are sure to hit the spot.

  • 500g pkt Coles Australian Beef Porterhouse Steak with Black Pepper & Thyme Butter
  • 1/4 cup (65g) basil pesto
  • 2 Coles Turkish Rolls, split horizontally
  • 1/2 cup (50g) Coles Pizza Blend Shredded Cheese
  • 60g pkt Coles Australian Baby Rocket

  1. Step 1

    Place butter from the steak packet in a bowl. Stir in the pesto. Spray a frying pan with olive oil spray and heat over high heat. Season steaks and cook for 4 mins each side or until cooked to your liking. Transfer to a plate. Rest for 5 mins.
  2. Step 2

    Preheat grill on high. Spread pesto mixture evenly over the cut side of each roll half. Place on a baking tray. Thinly slice the steak. Arrange over the roll halves and sprinkle with cheese. Cook under grill for 2 mins or until golden.
  3. Step 3

    Top sandwiches with rocket to serve.
