Mandarin mojito recipe

Cheers to the summer with this fun and fruity cocktail that’s ready in just 5 minutes. Perfect for a barbecue, backyard drinks, or your next Mexican-inspired feast, classic mojito gets a citrus makeover with the addition of mandarin zest and juice.

The sweetness of the mandarin pairs perfectly with fresh and bubbly sparkling water and mint leaves for a fun beverage you’ll be sipping on all night long.

How to make a mandarin mojito

Don’t be fooled by the fancy cocktail shakers or impressive garnishes – cocktails are surprisingly easy to make at home. Our mandarin cocktail recipe uses 1 mandarin that’s been zested and juiced, a pinch of sugar, mint leaves, white rum and sparkling water.

With no actual cooking time involved, simply place the zest and juice of the mandarin, sugar, mint leaves and rum in a jug. Use a small rolling pin, a pestle or even the back of a spoon to muddle the mixture. Once it’s been crushed, strain into a clean glass, add ice, sparkling water and garnish with a few extra mint leaves.

While rum gives this recipe its signature flavour, you can make a non-alcoholic mojito (or virgin mojito) by replacing the alcohol with soda water or elderflower cordial for a fun mocktail even the kids can enjoy.

The best summer cocktail

Also known as the cuban mojito, a mojito is one of the most iconic summer cocktails. It’s refreshing, sweet, zesty and incredibly versatile so you can add your own twist to it.

You can opt for a citrus makeover like with our mandarin cocktail, go tropical with coconut juice, spice things up with strawberries and jalapeños, make it fragrant with lemongrass, or turn it into a slushy with blended ice… the possibilities are endless!

Now get cooking

Entertaining this summer? We’ve got plenty of cocktails to choose from like our watermelon and lime caipiroska punch, blackberry and pink gin splice or raspberry and prosecco punch. If you’re looking for something without alcohol, you can also try our cucumber, lime and basil spritz, apple pie martini, or a blueberry and blackberry spritz.
