Try our rosé twist on this classic spiced wine cocktail - it's the perfect winter warmer.

Mulled rosé

Ingredients

  • 1 orange, halved
  • 750ml bottle rosé wine
  • 1 1/2 cups (375ml) clear apple juice
  • 1/4 cup (55g) caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 whole star anise
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) cherry brandy
  • 1 Pink Lady apple, very thinly sliced

Method

  1. Step 1

    Use a vegetable peeler to peel 4 strips of rind from 1 orange half, avoiding white pith, then juice the half. Chop the remaining orange half.
  2. Step 2

    Place orange rind, orange juice and chopped orange in a saucepan. Add wine, apple juice, sugar, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon and star anise. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low. Cook for 5 mins or until aromatic. Remove from heat.
  3. Step 3

    Add brandy or Grand Marnier and apple and stir to combine. Divide among serving glasses. Serve immediately.
