Up the ante with this homemade tartare sauce recipe. With hints of saffron, this sauce is the perfect condiment to go with your next seafood spread.

  • ½ tsp saffron threads
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  • 1 cup (300g) mayonnaise
  • 1 tbs baby capers, chopped
  • 4 cornichons, chopped
  • 1 tbs chopped pitted Sicilian olives
  • 2 tbs finely chopped chives
  • 1 tbs chopped tarragon
  • 1 tbs chopped dill

  1. Step 1

    Combine the saffron and lemon juice in a small bowl. Set aside for 15 mins to infuse.
  2. Step 2

    Add mayonnaise, caper, cornichon, olive, chives, tarragon and dill to the saffron mixture. Stir to combine. Season.
