Smash burgers

Whip up these delicious smash burgers in just 20 minutes. With fresh lettuce, cheese, pickles and beef patties sandwiched between brioche buns, these burgers are sure to hit the spot.

Ingredients

  • 500g pkt Coles Beef Thyme & Parsley Burgers
  • 8 slices burger cheese
  • 200g pkt Coles Brioche Burger Buns, split
  • 350g pkt Coles Kitchen Green Goddess Salad Kit
  • 1/3 cup Coles Special Burger Pickles, drained

Method

  1. Step 1

    Prepare a barbecue flat plate or large frying pan for high heat. Cook the burgers, pressing down with a spatula to flatten, for 3 mins or until the base is crisp and golden. Turn and top each burger with 2 slices of cheese. Cook for 2 mins or until burgers are cooked through and the cheese melts. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.

  2. Step 2

    Add the buns to the flat plate or pan, cut-side down, and cook for 30 secs or until toasted. Prepare the salad kit in a large bowl following packet directions, reserving half the dressing. 

  3. Step 3

    Divide the bun bases among serving plates. Top with burgers, pickles and salad. Drizzle with the remaining dressing and top with bun tops to serve.

Recipe tip

While beef mince makes great smash burgers, you can also try smash chicken burgers and pork smashed burgers – the same method works well with different proteins.
