  • 90ml lemon juice
  • 90ml sugar syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • Ice cubes, to serve
  • Bitters, to garnish

Method

  1. Step 1

    Place the whisky, lemon juice, sugar syrup, and egg white in a cocktail shaker. Shake for 30 secs or until combined and frothy. Add ice cubes and shake until chilled. Strain the mixture into 2 serving glasses. Add a few drops of bitters to each glass. Run a skewer through the drops to make a heart shape, if desired.

To make your own sugar syrup, place 1/2 cup (110g) caster sugar and 1/2 cup (125ml) water in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool. Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
