How to freeze sandwiches

It’s your choice - make a new sandwich everyday, or prep it all on Sunday then freeze for lunches throughout the week.

Freeze-ahead sandwich rules

Freeze sandwiches in batches and breeze through your morning routine. Here’s what you need to know.

Six sandwiches cut in half

1. Avoid soggy sandwiches

Spread butter on the bread - it helps stop the bread from going soggy. Always place the wettest ingredients in the centre of the sandwich fillings.

2. Wrap & freeze

Cut sandwiches in half then wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Place in the freezer. Keep sandwiches in the freezer for up to 3 months.

3. Thaw & pack

Place sandwiches in the fridge the night before to thaw. Pack in a lunch box with a freezer brick to keep the sandwich at the right temperature.
