Sabrina Frederick's skipping tips
Q: What does healthy living mean to you?
To me, healthier living means to live a balanced lifestyle which consists of a wholesome diet with plenty of exercise.
Q: Why do you think it's important to lead a healthy lifetyle?
As an athlete optimal nutrition compliments my training, which increase my chances of performing at my best. When I retire, continuing a healthy lifestyle will help me maintain my quality of life and prevent chronic illnesses.
Q: What's your best healthy food tip?
A hot tip of mine to make a meal healthier is adding fruit to leafy salads which uses their natural sweetness rather than adding sugary dressings. One of my absolute favorite sides to any meal is a salad with kale, red cabbage and carrot topped with a mango and toasted pepitas.
Hi I'm Sabrina Frederick from the Richmond Football Club and today i'm going to be sharing with you one of my favourite ways to staying fit, brought to you by Coles Healthier Living.
So I know sometimes it's hard to find time and space to exercise, so one of my favourite exercises that you can pretty much do anywhere is skipping. All you'll need is a skipping rope, yourself and a little bit of space which I love because anyone can do it. If you're a beginner or an experienced skipper there's so many ways of making skipping as easy, as fun or as hard as you may like.
When skipping it's pretty simple okay, so firstly you just want to straighten up your skipping rope and what you want to do is you want to have this sort of jumping hopping action with your feet. So i'm just going to show you with my feet what you're going to be doing. So you're going to be hopping up and down with your feet like this okay and at the same time you're going to be spinning the rope like so and as you do this you're going to jump over the rope okay so it's a bit like this.
Simple okay, so once you've got the hang of that you can make it as hard or as easy as you like. Okay so for me i've been skipping for a while now so I actually like to pick up the pace just a little bit more, so just getting a little bit quicker.
And if you're really experienced and you want to chuck in a maybe a one foot, or another foot, or a hop and a back, or double unders, or whatever you'd like really. Skipping is so so easy and something you can get a hang of really really quickly. No excuses, all you need is a rope and they're really really easy to get, it's a great way to staying fit.
