Q: What does healthy living mean to you?
Healthier living means looking after both your mind and body. Exercise is a great way to not only improve your physical health and fitness but is a fantastic way to refresh and refocus your mind.
Q: Why do you think it's important to lead a healthy lifetyle?
Health is holistic, meaning, there is a relationship between the different types of health. For example, being physically fit and eating healthy and nutritious meals is great but we also need to ensure we are getting enough sleep. Building healthy relationships and being able to enjoy the simple things in life also contribute to a health lifestyle. It’s all about balance!
Q: What's your best healthy food tip?
A tip that is often given to me that I don’t always follow is to eat slow and enjoy your food! This can assist with your body recognising when it’s full so you don’t over indulge. Eating a wide variety of foods is recommended but don’t neglect the “naughty” treats; like everything in life, it’s all about moderation!
My favourite healthy snack is coconut yoghurt with mixed oats & honey - quick and easy to prepared and yummy!
Hi everyone, I'm Steph Chiocci from the Collingwood Football Club, today I'm going to share with you my favourite way to stay fit brought to you by Coles Healthier Living.
So what I'm going to show you is a plank and also shoulder taps okay so we're going to get into the plank position you'll notice I'm just using a towel so I don't have a mat, that's totally fine because we're at home. I'm getting into the plank position here okay, I'm going to raise onto my toes. Really, really important that we keep our head nice and steady and we also have a nice straight and flat back okay, so don't get that bottom in the end make sure that bottom is nice and straight. Hold that position for 30 to 45 seconds. If you really want to challenge yourself take it out to the minute. Do that three times and that will really get the core working.
The next one we're going to do is shoulder taps okay another core and upper body exercise. So again onto our toes but this time we're going onto our hands okay, holding that position we're going to try and tap our opposite shoulder with our hand okay. The idea is to keep nice and steady which I'm obviously struggling at, try and keep nice and steady, engage the core and make sure you're turning on those muscles. All right so do that ten or so each side okay, by three and that should uh should get your core burning. Anyway stay fit, stay healthy, and thanks for watching!
